Why does Red Oak PFA Fundraise?

As a public school, we take great pride in providing the exceptional educational experience that our community has come to expect at Red Oak Elementary and throughout OPUSD. While state funding helps the district cover essential core services, it is your generous support that allows our school to offer the enhanced programs and enrichment opportunities that truly make a difference. These additional resources help us supplement the district’s efforts, ensuring our students receive the enriched, well-rounded education that sets OPUSD apart.

The district remains focused on ensuring that every student receives the best possible education, but it's important to understand the financial landscape within which we operate. While the district does receive state funding to cover the basics for each student, there is a significant gap when we compare ourselves to neighboring districts. If OPUSD were to receive the same average Local Control Funding as neighboring districts, we would have an additional $610 per student—totaling $2.6 million in unrestricted revenue. This disparity underscores the critical need for private funding to bridge the gap and maintain the level of excellence our community expects.

Your contributions are vital in helping us close this gap. They allow the schools to introduce more innovation and creativity into our classrooms, ensuring that our students are not just meeting the standards but exceeding them. Your support directly impacts the quality of our educational programs, allowing our schools to continue to focus on delivering an exceptional educational experience that prepares our students for success in the future.

Thank you for your ongoing dedication to our schools and students. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
