Shared Classroom Supplies

Dear Parents,
In an effort to streamline and simplify the school supply process, save money for parents and the schools, and prevent waste, the three Oak Park USD elementary school parent organizations have come together to offer a single program for school supply acquisition.

Rather than sending parents off to purchase basic school supplies or contract with companies that provide them, we are going to order supplies for all DK-5 classrooms in bulk, which will maximize discounts. Each teacher has provided us with a list of necessary supplies and each has been asked to retain as many usable supplies from last school year as possible to minimize waste. You will not be asked to send in any supplies or materials for the entire school year. The approximate cost of providing the supplies to all of our students is $130,000. This averages to about $75 per student. We would like to ask parents to make a voluntary donation of this amount per student. NOTE: By law, public schools may not require parents to make this donation. Supplies will be provided to all children whether you make the contribution or not. We are asking you to make this donation to the schools so that we can use our state funds to provide the instructional program that makes Oak Park USD schools unique and exceptional.

The following supplies are included in this program:
